Electroflex Engineering relocated the Cable reel system to protect life and infrastructure

Problem Statement

The cable reel system at Adani Dahej was located on the jetty side, reducing visibility and making the operations highly risky. There was smoke and smog that reduced visibility, causing trucks to ram into the structure. The customer wanted to relocate the cable reel system to sea side. This would make cargo handling safe and, as there was no truck movement in that area, reduce the possibility of accidents. This was to be done for two cranes.

Challenges

The project was challenging as the timeline was tight. We only had 4 days per crane relocation and the movement towards the sea was highly risky.

Solution

After understanding the need, we proposed a new place for relocation that was safe and matched the installation height. This required a detailed mechanical analysis and certification of the new place by a chartered engineer.

Once the certification and approval was received, we moved the system in complete assembled form to make the movement faster and safe. We managed to complete the relocation within the stipulated time frame and restore safety in operations.
